Re:    Food Pyramid Again

The USDA's Food Pyramid has once again emphasized
the "need" for grains, pasta and rice type foods.  If the
vitamins that were in grains years and years ago before
the likes of ADM took out the critical part of the grain
and made Vitamin E that they sell for 5,000 times the
cost of procurement, then maybe this would be a
viable choice.

However when the most valuable component of the
grain--bran and germ--do not exist in flour, then the
grain is merely sugar in the body.  Yes, carbohydrates
turn to sugar in our bodies and in our pet's bodies.

Is it any wonder that so many pets are diabetic?!
That children are now becoming diabetic at age
5 and some even younger.  And that diabetes is
becoming the leading health issue in America
today.

Do you suppose the five companies who control
the grains in the U.S. today had anything to do
with the development of this pyramid?

Think about what your grandparents fed their
pets and think about the health of their pets.
The government wasn't telling them what to do
at the time, they did only what they thought
was best and what was available and affordable
to them.  Maybe we ought to be thinkers like
they were and care for our pets the same way.

Food for thought today.

Yours for excellent pet health,
