RE: MOTHER NATURE'S GIFT---GOLDEN SEAL
This is another in our series of discussions about the herbs that Mother Nature has provided to help care for all species of animals including us humans.
Golden Seal (Hydrastis Canadensis) is indigenous to North America and has been found mostly in rich, moist deciduous forests. Due to the over-collection of the root, Golden Seal is now being grown in many parts of the United States for the herbal marketplace. Wisconsin has many Golden Seal growers.
Native American Indians used the roots as a wash for inflammations, for whooping cough, diarrhea, jaundice, fever, sour stomach, flatulence, pneumonia and other health conditions.
The root of Golden Seal is what contains the predominate medicinal qualities. The flower does not contain much documented medicinal value. However, Indians used the flower for dyeing their cloths.
Studies have shown the strongest medicinal properties of Golden Seal to be its antibacterial effects. Uses of Golden Seal are numerous and include use as an antiseptic, hemostatic (mild blood cleaner), diuretic, laxative, tonic and as an anti-inflammatory for inflammation of the mucous membranes. Golden Seal is also known to improve the appetite and assist digestion by stimulating the production of bile. It has also been shown to aid the nervous system.
Golden Seal is a key ingredient of our Systemajuv because of the many medicinal properties listed above. Whenever an animal is exhibiting signs of illness that one does not know what might be the root cause, we always, always, always recommend including Systemajuv. Golden Seal's antibacterial ability along with its effect of mildly cleaning the blood of toxic substances and its other wonderful medicinal qualities is critical to returning a pet to health. The synergy of Systemajuv's combination of herbs has been shown to help with almost all animal health challenges including those of our own pets.
