We frequently get asked about what we feed our Cavies. This is one question we love to answer, since nutrition is of crucial importance. If you want your pet to look, feel and act their very best, they simply must be well nourished. The longevity of your pet is also determined a great deal by it's long term diet.
Being well nourished is not to be confused with being nourished well enough for survival, as an animal can live many years on minimal nutrition. If an animal is merely nourished well enough to get by, one may never realize the overall potential of that animal. In addition, one may have to part with their precious pet long before they're ready as a result of a number of ailments that can manifest themselves due to long term nutritional deficiencies and/or toxicities.
We are firm believers that Nature holds the answer to almost all health issues. So, for the health and well-being of our pets, we begin with a diet that is most like what a dog would naturally eat. Fresh, uncooked meat is a primary ingredient in our fur kids' diet. This can be found in either frozen form or freeze dried for convenience and ease of storage.

If budget restrictions require you to use canned and/or dry dog food, it is necessary for an all natural food to be chosen. There are a number of great products on the market. Here are foods that we endorse:
It is because we endorse these great frozen, dehydrated, canned, and dry foods that we are making them available through our web site. If nothing else, this is one way we can provide you with information about specific brands of non-toxic, natural foods. We would love to see all our adopted fur kids continue on a wholesome, nutritious diet when they get to their new home.
Supplements
If you decide to use a pre-processed, cooked food, it will be necessary to add all natural supplements to replace the nutrients that are lost during the processing procedures. Please view our Holistic Health page to learn more.
