Re:        Red Raspberry Leaf

The Red Raspberry plant is native to England and is a
member of the rose family.  Yes, the raspberry that is
so delicious on ice cream and in pastries.

The medicinal properties in red raspberry are used for
disorders of the digestive, urinary, circulatory and
female reproductive system.  As a female tonic,  red
raspberry is used for pregnant women to relieve and
prevent nausea.  It is also used for hot flashes and
menstrual cramps. 

Nutritionally red raspberry is an excellent source of
manganese (critical for fertility) which may explain why
the red color of the fruit.  The roots are boiled and eaten
like turnips in some cultures.

At Pet Medicine Chest, we use the leaves of this plant in
our remedies concerning the topic of giving birth and
laying eggs and the mother's well being.

Red raspberry tea from the leaves is also known to be
good for diarrhea, canker sores and promotes healthy
bones, teeth and skin.

Red raspberry leaves are used in our birthing assistance
remedies.  These have been shown to help with toning and
strengthening the uterus, the birthing canal and the egg
tract in preparation for giving birth or laying eggs.  It has
also been known to reduce the pain of giving birth and
to prevent egg bound conditions when used two weeks
before and all during the breeding season.
